While the world is still reeling from the Avenir concept, Buick went ahead and released another prototype that is possibly even more amazing. The Buick Avista concept debuted just before the North American International Auto Show.
It’s a grand tourer of the future. The Avista is designed for both powerful performance and a high level of comfort. It features a refined twin-turbo V6 sending power to the rear wheels, a package good for 400 horsepower.
We first saw Buick’s new, flowing, kinetic design language with the Avenir concept. Then we saw it hit the market with the 2017 Buick LaCrosse. The Buick Avista concept is an even stronger expression of this new language.
As Buick puts it, the Avista features “uninterrupted body lines stretch[ed] front to rear, suggesting motion” and “the absence of conventional B-pillars between the doors and rear side windows enhances the flowing profile.”
The Avista also features next-level comfort. QuietTuning technology helps the interior stay pleasantly quiet while air-control filtration system keeps the air clean and fresh.
Duncan Aldred, VP of Global Buick Sales, summed up the Buick Avista concept quite nicely. “It is a modern expression of the brand’s heritage of sophisticated performance, communicated with beautiful elegance.”
